Ngā mihi nui a te puoro o te rorohiko!

Kia ora e te whānau! I think my title means "Welcome to music on the computer!" . At least that's what I hope I've said!

I have reinstated my blog after not having many people present this morning. Lots of people have asked me to catch them up, and I figured this could be a good way to keep everyone in the loop. If you aren't going to attend due to COVID-19, that is completely fair enough and I understand completely. Could you, as always, let me know if you are going to be away. Thank you to those of you who did this.

We have been asked to prepare online lessons, so this is the beginning of me doing that! I've run my blog in the past but had stopped after seeing that noone was reading it. I encourage you to subscribe to e-mails using the link I think I've added on this! I plan on posting general updates here and if you click on the three little lines at the top left hand side of the page, you will see a page for each class. There I will post what is covered.

I also plan on using Zoom and Google Hangouts, and will be trialling these this week, if it comes to that. If we end up in a scenario where we cannot have physical lessons, I will always be avaliable via my e-mail (fluteteachergemma@gmail.com) to answer any questions. I am also happy to comment on recordings and videos sent. One of my students has started her own blog, with videos of her playing pieces etc. It could be something you'd like to do at home. I can subscribe and any music work done can be uploaded there for me to see.

I hope to post worksheets etc that you can print for your students to do, links to cool online places to practice your music, theory activities as well as videos and recordings to help you with your learning. In other words, watch this space! It will get filled up as we go on!

My last notice is just an FYI that I have all my classes on here: at St Orans, HVHS and Gallery Music Centre. If a notice doesn't make sense to you, it could be that I've intended it to be for another group. I will endeavour to title it with who it's relevant for. This space should hopefully become more organised too as the days/weeks go on!

As always, any questions/comments/concerns, please comment. Comments are also reassuring for me so I know people are listening!

Ngā mihi nui,
Gemma
